A record number of competitors, 39 men and 20 women, participated in the 2023 Athena Caledonian Games! Athletes from all around the Pacific Northwest converged on Athena July 9 to determine who would be the top contender in each of the twelve divisions into which athletes were grouped according to experience and age.
They all competed in six different events, including the Braemar (stone put), Heavy Weight for Distance (HWD) or Light Weight for Distance (LWD), Light Hammer (LH), Weight Over Bar (WOB), Sheaf Toss and Caber Toss.

Winning tosses in the separate events were as follows:
Men: Braemar - 39'5.5"; HWD - 52'9"; LH - 116'8"; WOB - 18'; Sheaf - 36'.
Women: Braemar - 30'9"; HWD - 38'10"; LWD - 52'; LH - 82'1"; WOB - 16'; Sheaf - 24'.
Twelve athletes achieved perfect scores in the caber toss.
