A banner year for the Caledonian Main Street Parade, 2023 brought more than 40 entries, making this the longest parade in Athena in recent memory! Many thanks go to the Caledonian Parade crew: organizer Colleen Bagdon, her daughters Joelle and Mary, and Johan Shafer. Announcer Rick Jaggars and judges Carrie Bremer, Dave Richmond and Joshua Murray were stationed at the Veterans Memorial Park near the VFW Hall on Athena's Main Street.
Due to a paving project at the High School (the traditional parade starting point), entries assembled in the Diamond Eye Manufacturing grounds on West Main Street, traveled down First Street, turned on Currant, proceeded to Fifth, and returned to the starting point via Main Street.
